High Technology Championship was held in Veliky Novgorod
The High Technology Championship in Veliky Novgorod ended on Saturday, September 21. Students from different regions of Russia and guests from abroad competed in creating the latest developments that will help our country to establish import substitution.
One of the championship tests was the task to correctly assemble the parts of an agrobot, which the participants saw for the first time. They had only 15 minutes to study it and half an hour to complete the task. Such skills of quick work will be in demand at agrarian enterprises, where the introduction of ground drones is already underway, the organizers believe.
"We have these robots designed for irrigation of plants, that is, for their watering, for the application of plant protection products," - said the chief expert of the competence "Agrobots" Andrey Ivanov.
The bots were specially purchased in China for the championship. Participants need not only to assemble them, but also to program them - to teach them to bypass obstacles and spray the right amount of water or chemical solution.
In another competition - "Dispatching of technological processes" - the participants had a task, according to which it is necessary to develop a project and install equipment, with the help of which complex machines are controlled at industrial and energy enterprises.
At the same time, the most difficult stage is called the one where drones and rovers have to be trained with the help of artificial intelligence. According to Yulia Shvetsova, the main expert of the "Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Complex Unmanned Systems" competence, drones must take off according to the task, identify a free space in the parking lot, transmit information about the coordinates of the free space to the rover, and the rover must independently take the necessary position. Separately, the drone must recognize human figures, so there are mannequins on the site.
Many of the technologies that are available at the championship, foreign participants see for the first time. They try to learn as much as possible about them in order to implement them in their own countries.
"I have learned a lot of things here and gained a lot of skills. And when I come to my country, I think I will be able to share it with others," said Sarfo Kusi, a participant from Ghana.
A total of 137 people - college and technical school students and schoolchildren - are participating in the finals of the high-tech championship. The winners will be invited by the leading IT-companies of Russia for an internship.
Earlier it was reported that the competition program of the championship is held in 12 innovative competences formed with regard to import substitution and introduction of high-tech practices into production: "Agrobots (agrobots)", "Dispatching of technological processes", "Optoelectronics", "Data analysis specialist (BI-analyst)", "Digital business opportunities", "Development of virtual worlds", "Developer of mechatronic rehabilitation systems (exoskeletons)", "Mobile Game Developer", "Installation and Maintenance of Industrial Robots", "Synthesis of Compact Models of Electronic Components and Systems", "Smart Home Systems" and "Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Complex Unmanned Systems".
