According to "Avito Auto", in the summer of 2024, the demand for SUVs showed a strong growth of 23.7% compared to the summer of 2023. This is reported in a press release, which is at the disposal of Izvestia.
The volume of supply in the segment of crossovers and SUVs also increased by 40.2% over the same period. The average price amounted to 3.14 million rubles.
The leader in terms of demand growth dynamics was Chery brand, demonstrating an impressive increase of 95.7% compared to last summer. The share of Chery in the total demand for SUVs amounted to 9.6%. Haval also showed a significant increase in demand by 62.7%, and its share in demand amounted to 12.9%. Geely also noticeably strengthened its position, showing a 58.6% growth in demand and taking a 9.1% share in the segment.
Among the models, Chery Tiggo 4 Pro showed the highest growth in demand compared to last year - 2.7 times. The share of this car in the segment amounted to 3.3%. Geely Monjaro also showed growth in 2.3 times, its share reached 2.9%. Haval Jolion was in third place, showing a 60.5% growth in demand, its share amounted to 5.9%.
Lada Niva Legend SUV took the largest share in demand - 7.8%. It is also the most affordable on the market - the average price of 1.063 million rubles.
"The dynamics of supply and demand for Chinese SUVs is due to the fact that the audience is already accustomed to the brands that have entered our market in recent years, their model lineup continues to expand. In addition, Chinese manufacturers are traditionally strong in the crossover segment", - said Artem Khomutinnikov, head of sales of the "New cars" direction in Avito.
On September 18, the agency "Autostat" reported that in 2024 in Russia will be sold 900 thousand cars of Chinese brands. This will be their next record figure.
In the first eight months of 2024, 591 thousand cars from China were sold, which already exceeds the result of the whole 2023 - then 544 thousand Chinese cars were sold.
