President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with his entourage the possibility of removing Vitali Klitschko from the post of head of the Kiev City State Administration (KSCA), but did not receive the support of the majority of his team. This was reported on November 2 by RBC-Ukraine.

"The president's entourage considered the possibility of removing Klitschko from the post of head of the Kiev City State Administration. <...> However, according to sources, the majority of influential representatives of the presidential team <...> strongly opposed it," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, one of the few who supported this idea was the former head of the presidential office, Andrei Ermak. The rest reportedly opposed it due to possible legal and managerial consequences.

In addition, even removing the head of the KSCA from office would not deprive Klitschko of the powers of the elected mayor and influence on the city council. The sources also noted that the harsh actions against the Kiev mayor complicate his ties with European politicians, including German ones.

On October 23, Klitschko stated that in the near future they would most likely try to remove him from the post of mayor of the city and were already selecting candidates to replace him. He admitted that this situation is alarming. He cited rallies outside the Kiev city administration building and statements by the central authorities about the capital's unpreparedness for winter as signs of a campaign against him.
