- Blogger Trubenkova spoke about the financial conflict with her ex-husband after the divorce
Blogger Polina Trubenkova, known as Madame Kaka, spoke about financial conflicts with her ex-husband Konstantin Kovalenko. According to her, over the years of the relationship, she spent almost $2 million, and for six to seven years she mostly paid for a life together. Now the former spouses cannot agree on the division of property, and Trubenkova herself claims that she is forced to look for rented housing. About why the breakup turned into a financial conflict and what the blogger accuses her ex—husband of is in the Izvestia article.
"I spent almost $2 million in our entire marriage": what Trubenkova said
In an interview with journalist Madonna Moore, Trubenkova spoke about the financial side of the relationship in a conversation about parting with her husband. According to the blogger, she began to realize the scale of her expenses when she began transferring them to a close friend. As a result, according to Polina, she spent almost $2 million for the entire marriage.
Polina Trubenkova
When I tell her, I realize that I have puzzles, I see the whole picture. I spent almost $2 million in our entire marriage. I have 3 million rubles left now.
According to Trubenkova, at the beginning of the relationship, the financial situation was different: Konstantin had money, but she herself had practically none. Then the spouse paid for gifts and trips. Later, the blogger began to earn more and offered her husband to direct his funds to investments, and to cover daily expenses from her income.
She admitted that she believed in her husband's financial success and did not want him to withdraw money from investments. According to her, she wanted to see the result of the investment one day, so she continued to pay for the family's expenses.
When her husband told her how much money he had left, Trubenkova, according to her, was shocked. She also explained that she was especially afraid of losing financial stability, as she had experienced periods of poverty as a child. Realizing that her savings turned out to be less than she expected, forced her to take a fresh look at family finances.
"He accuses me of being mercantile": ex-spouses' financial conflict
Financial disagreements have become part of the conflict over the divorce and the division of joint property. Trubenkova claims that her ex-husband accuses her of commercialism and believes that the reason for the breakup was money. The blogger herself does not agree with this assessment.: According to her, she had been invested in the relationship for many years, supported her husband and believed in his potential.
Polina Trubenkova
I've been giving unconditional love to a person for 10 years. All money is not just money, it's trust, it's faith in potential. I believed in him so much, I loved him so much, that I couldn't doubt for a second that at some point he would just do this.
According to the blogger, the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement. Among the property acquired during the marriage are a house in the Moscow region on Novaya Riga, two Mercedes cars and a business. Trubenkova claims that she paid for most of her purchases out of her own funds. She bought one car for her mother, the other for herself and her family. At the same time, according to her, she also covered the costs of car maintenance, insurance, gasoline and dry cleaning.
The blogger said that her ex-husband wants to get half of the house. According to her, he expressed his willingness to leave her the car, but Polina herself considers such an offer unfair: the blogger claims that she bought and maintained the car on her own.
Why can't a blogger stay in his own house
Living together after a breakup was another source of tension. Trubenkova said that the former spouses are still staying in the house, as they have not agreed on its sale and division. According to her, Konstantin believes that he has the right to stay there until the sale of real estate. Polina does not claim that he has already evicted her, but she says that she spends most of her time outside the house — she spends the night with friends or stays in hotels.
Polina Trubenkova
I'm not at home most of the time. I spend the night with friends or stay in a hotel because it's literally moral abuse. <...> It's getting harder and harder for us to get in touch.
According to Trubenkova, the house is about 400 square meters. she arranged and repaired the house, investing her strength and money in it. Now she has to look for an apartment to rent, although she is not sure how long it will take to sell the property. The blogger also stated that her ex-husband wants to get at least 95 million rubles for the house. At the same time, according to her, she does not have the means to pay him half the cost and keep the house for herself.
Polina believes that the property dispute is complicated by the fact that former spouses have different views on their contribution to life together. She says that she perceives the demand for half of the house as a painful contradiction to the many years of financial support, which, according to her, she provided to her husband.
"I began to understand my needs": about therapy and divorce
Trubenkova said that she thought about the divorce about two years before the final decision. According to her, for about a year the couple were in an open crisis and turned to a family therapist. Polina also asked her husband to go to individual therapy.
The blogger explained that in the past she often adjusted to relationships and convinced herself that she was satisfied with what was happening. For example, she said she didn't like flowers and expensive things because she didn't want to increase her family's expenses. Later, she said, she realized that she was giving up her own desires in this way. She noted that she did not always directly tell her husband about her needs and believed herself that she was satisfied with the current situation.
Separately, the blogger spoke about conflicts in which, according to her, her ex-husband denied her memories of conversations and claimed that she misunderstood or heard his words. Trubenkova said that thanks to therapy, she began to recognize similar situations and sometimes recorded messages to friends in order to maintain her own understanding of what had happened. She described this relationship as emotionally difficult, but at the same time admitted that her husband supported her during some difficult periods, and she supported him.
According to Polina, the decision to break up was due not only to feelings, but also to the fact that over time she stopped seeing her husband as the person she had previously imagined next to her. Now the former spouses will have to agree on the property and resolve the issue of a joint home.
