Fraudsters began to offer Russians to issue a passport in a few days.

On October 24, the Russian Interior Ministry warned about the spread of false advertisements on the Internet with offers to issue a foreign passport in a few days. The agency stressed that such ads are fraudulent.

"Information of an advertising nature is being distributed on the Internet about the possibility of obtaining a passport in a few days. Be careful — this is fraud," RIA Novosti quoted the ministry as saying.

It is clarified that the current legislation does not provide for the possibility of expedited receipt of a biometric passport with a 10-year validity period. You can apply for a document within a few days exclusively for old-style passports, which are issued for five years.

In this case, the urgent procedure is applied only in two exceptional cases. To do this, a citizen must document the need for emergency treatment abroad or the fact of a serious illness or death of a close relative abroad.

The ministry urged citizens not to turn to private organizations that promise intermediary services for the rapid production of documents for money.

The day before, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation warned that a multi-stage fraud scheme has spread in Russia, in which citizens are persuaded to install malicious software under the pretext of protecting their personal account on the Gosuslugi portal. The department stressed that employees of government departments and banks never require the installation of questionable applications.
