Senior Lieutenant Nasurdinov diverted the UAV attack from the artillery positions at the cost of injury

The commander of a motorized rifle platoon, Senior Lieutenant Valery Nasurdinov shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which was heading to the artillery position of a neighboring unit. This was announced on October 24 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

It is specified that the fighter opened fire on the UAV from a standard weapon, forcing the drone to change the direction of attack. The device detonated 20 m from the target, without reaching it. Nasurdinov suffered a shrapnel wound to his neck as a result of the explosion. After giving himself first aid, the senior lieutenant went to the neighboring unit. There he helped his wounded colleagues and organized their evacuation to a safe place. The officer's dedication made it possible to avoid casualties among the personnel.

In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry noted the actions of the senior gunner of the rocket artillery battery, Guard Senior Sergeant Alexander Kuranov. As part of the reconnaissance group, he carried out the task of reconnoitering the area and selecting a site for a new firing position in the Donetsk People's Republic.

During an inspection of the territory, Kuranov noticed an enemy FPV drone in the air. He warned the group about the danger and used standard-issue weapons. With precise shots from the guards, the senior sergeant destroyed the drone, eliminating the threat to the lives of the military. Thanks to Kuranov's decisive actions, the reconnaissance group completed an inspection of the area and ensured the selection of a site for the deployment of rocket artillery.
