Polyansky said about the Kiev regime's hunt for Russian journalists
The Kiev regime is hunting Russian journalists, and the death toll is in the dozens. This was stated on October 22 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the OSCE Dmitry Polyansky.
"The Kiev regime is conducting a real hunt for Russian correspondents — the death toll goes to dozens," RIA Novosti quoted the diplomat as saying at an OSCE meeting.
According to him, Ukraine has been attacking Russian journalists since 2014. Polyansky recalled the deaths of Andrei Stenin, a photojournalist for MIA Rossiya Segodnya, Anatoly Klyan, a cameraman for Channel One, Igor Kornelyuk, a correspondent for VGTRK, and Anton Voloshin, a sound engineer.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on September 8 that Russian journalists covering events in the special military operation zone had been targeted, but Western media had not responded to these cases properly. She noted that as a result of the terrorist attacks, many journalists were killed, including Izvestia war correspondent Alexander Fedorchak, who died in March last year.
In April 2024, Semyon Eremin, a military correspondent for Izvestia, was killed while filming a report in the SVR zone. The journalist was injured as a result of an FPV drone attack and subsequently died.
