The Chernigov station of the Svyatoshinsko-Brovarsky line of the Kiev metro is closed indefinitely due to serious damage to the tracks. This was reported on October 19 by the Kyiv24 TV channel with reference to the acting head of the Kiev City Military Administration, Andrei Tkachev.

"The Chernihiv metro station has been closed indefinitely. The tracks of the Kiev City Military Administration are significantly damaged, and experts are now assessing the volume of [upcoming] repairs," the Telegram channel said.

The exact dates of the station's resumption have not yet been determined. At the same time, according to Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko, train traffic between Lesnaya and Akademgorodok stations is planned to be restored this evening.

At the first stage, trains are supposed to follow the red line without stopping at the Chernihiv station.

On October 10, the Kiev City Hall already announced the suspension of work in the subway. Then the trains stopped running in several districts of the Ukrainian capital at once due to a power outage. In addition to the lack of trains, some stations did not have lights and escalators did not work.
