The protection of all family members living "behind closed doors" must be guaranteed by the State. This was announced to Izvestia on October 19 by Tatyana Butskaya, Chairman of the Board of the Council of Mothers public organization.

"After all, the attitude towards a person, towards human rights, towards human freedom, towards those borders where this parenting ends and what is prohibited by law begins, they (borders. — Ed.) They are quite clear now. They were not so clear-cut in the last century. <...> We understand that the doors of every family are closed, but still we understand that the family lives in the state, and at least we must guarantee control over the safety of children," she stated.

Accordingly, Butskaya commented on the case of the possible torture of her own children by Russian real estate developer Sergey Ivantsov.

She recalled that the Government has repeatedly raised the issue of adopting a law on domestic violence. According to the chairman of the Board of the Council of Mothers, this phenomenon is faced not only by minors, but also by women, men, and even the elderly. According to her, questions about this project remain, despite the tools available to the authorities and the commissioners for children's rights in the Russian Federation.

"Perhaps someone will remember that in childhood they put them in a corner, grandmothers and grandfathers will remember how they put them on peas. But these are completely different stories if we are talking about such physical and moral violence. It's very dangerous. Any upbringing should be within the limits of what is allowed," Butskaya said.

She noticed that the boundaries she mentioned are transformed over time. Now they are clear, whereas back in the 20th century they were not. The Chairman of the Board of the Council of Mothers reminded that a modern person is obliged to live according to the laws that have already been adopted. Against this background, Butskaya urged her compatriots to be vigilant and identify any suspicious change in the child's condition.

When transferring a minor to home schooling or skipping classes, she recommended finding out the reason for the appropriate decision. Butskaya also asked the Russians not to remain silent in case they see that "something went wrong" with the child and come to his aid.

Izvestia learned on October 19 that businessman Ivantsov could torture his children together with his nanny Tatiana Khlystova. The man claimed that he had been slandered, and his former employee, commenting on the videos in which she punishes children, called them a fake made with the help of artificial intelligence. The godfather of one of the developer's daughters, Alexander Makarov, also refuted the victims' words.

At the same time, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for Moscow began an inspection, and Maria Lvova-Belova, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, took personal control of the situation. Meanwhile, Nina Ostanina, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood, in an interview with Izvestia, called the revelation an extraordinary and wild case in which moral barriers were violated.
