The WSJ pointed to Ukraine's inability to resist Russian jet drones
The appearance of Russian jet drones has taken Ukraine by surprise, and the country lacks the means to protect itself from them. This was reported on October 16 by the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
"Now Ukraine also lacks protection against jet drones capable of flying faster and higher than previous models. The appearance of such drones took Ukraine by surprise," the newspaper notes.
According to the newspaper, one of the main problems remains the lack of engines for interceptor drones. Industry representatives estimate that Ukraine may need to produce more than 1,000 of these devices per week to counter the growing number of Russian jet drones.
On October 15, CNN found out that Ukraine had exhausted its stocks of missiles for the American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems. It was noted that it would be problematic to replenish missile stocks, since the United States, in particular, had used up a significant amount of this type of ammunition during the conflict with Iran.
