The White House press secretary complained about the lack of normal toilets in China
The new White House press secretary, Katie Zakaria, criticized China on October 15, saying there were no comfortable toilets in the country.
"I remember very clearly how, having just arrived from China, I thought: "How can China be the next country on the horizon? They don't even have proper toilets," Bloomberg quoted her as saying.
Zakaria moved to China in 2011 after graduating from Pepperdine University Law School in California. She lived there with her husband and worked at the Zhong Lun law firm for two years, after which she returned back.
The complaint of the American official was commented on by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning. She advised Zakaria to come to China more often.
"We invite her to visit China more often if possible," Mao Ning is quoted as saying on the website of the Chinese foreign Ministry.
Zachariah's statements differ markedly from the official line of the White House. Following talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington on September 25, US President Donald Trump announced the upcoming grandiose events in the future of the two countries. The Chinese leader, in turn, stressed that the current relations between the two countries have reached a new historical stage.
