Zakharova stated the EU's hopes for the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine

The ultra-liberal regimes in the European Union (EU) expect the United States to refuse to help resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on October 16 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

According to her, European leaders hope for an adjustment in Washington's policy and its abandonment of attempts to achieve a cessation of hostilities. The diplomat stressed that such expectations are related to the EU's desire to "unleash the flywheel of war with renewed vigor."

"You see, the EU constantly portrays intense diplomatic activity, which is allegedly aimed at stabilizing the situation and resolving the conflict around Ukraine. In fact, all this activity of the European Union is aimed at undermining any efforts to achieve a long—term peaceful settlement," she said during a briefing.
