The shutdown of the American Starlink satellite system amid deteriorating relations between the head of the White House, Donald Trump, and Ukrainian leader, Vladimir Zelensky, could seriously affect the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and turn into a disaster for them. This was announced on October 14 by military expert Boris Jerelievsky.

"The consequences for the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be catastrophic if Starlink is disabled. First of all, almost all communication between the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be disrupted," he explained in an interview with aif.ru .

According to Jerelievsky, satellite communications are used in a number of unmanned complexes, including some long-range vehicles. The expert stressed that without this system, the Ukrainian Armed Forces may face serious problems, which will ultimately accelerate the end of the entire conflict.

Zelensky complained on the same day that for the second time the American side had not provided Kiev with intelligence about the launch of ballistic missiles in its direction, although Trump has "all the strong and sufficient tools" to help.

Meanwhile, his defense technology adviser, Sergei Beskrestnov, confirmed that SpaceX, which developed the Starlink satellite system, had indeed limited the speed of its terminals used by the Ukrainian militants. It was clarified that the measures affected the StarShield package, whose services made it possible to monitor objects at speeds of 100 miles per hour (160.93 km/h).
