A court in Moscow fined Twitch almost 42 million rubles.
A court in Moscow has fined the Twitch streaming service almost 42 million rubles for violations of Russian law. This was reported on October 7 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.
It is clarified that Twitch was found guilty of committing offenses under Part 3 of Article 13.49 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Failure to fulfill obligations stipulated by the legislation on the activities of foreign persons in the Internet information and telecommunications network in the territory of the Russian Federation").
A similar violation was charged against Zoom Communications Inc. According to the same article, the company was fined almost 66 million rubles.
In September, Twitch was also fined 3.5 million rubles for refusing to monitor illegal information. TikTok and Pinterest platforms were fined for a similar amount under the same article.
