Passengers on a FlyDubai flight on which one of the pilots attacked a colleague shared details of the incident on September 30. According to eyewitnesses, only the intervention of several people in what was happening helped prevent the plane crash.

One of the passengers on this flight, Amogi Tali, said that the liner began to descend suddenly and sharply. After the plane leveled off briefly, a second fall followed, accompanied by a loud noise in the front of the cabin. It turned out that the sounds of fighting came from the cockpit.

Another passenger named Naomi stressed that the conflict was not an accidental quarrel. According to her, the co-pilot deliberately planned the attack.

"It was hard to be face to face with death, with the feeling that you could die. <...> The co-pilot came with a knife. It wasn't some kind of quarrel or argument. He came with a knife intentionally, purposefully, to kill," the woman said.

Eyewitness Chaim Lazarovich added that at the moment of a sharp decrease in altitude, many on board no longer hoped for rescue. He admitted that at that moment he felt the inevitability of parting with his family.

A FlyDubai plane flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv gave a short emergency alert on September 30, and then sent the code used to report the hijacking. According to preliminary data, the co-pilot stabbed the commander with a knife, and then tried to crash the plane. The victim was an Indian citizen. The passengers of the flight helped neutralize the attacker. The aircraft landed urgently in the Saudi city of Tabuk, and in the evening a rescue flight transported passengers to Tel Aviv.

Netanyahu announced that security services were on high alert after the incident on board the FlyDubai aircraft. In addition, he said that he pays tribute to the heroes from Dubai who showed resourcefulness and courage on board the plane.

The pilot of the 1st class, the commander of the Airbus A320, Andrei Litvinov, commenting on the incident, told Izvestia that pilots do not undergo special psychological testing before departure. According to him, pilots regularly undergo medical examinations and psychologists, but such checks do not allow us to determine in advance how compatible a particular commander and co-pilot will be. He called the FlyDubai case out of the ordinary and noted that the circumstances of the incident would now be studied in detail.
