One of the groups of the Ministry of Emergency Situations during the search for speleologists in the Crimea returned due to a landslide.

In Crimea, one of the two rescue groups was forced to return due to a cave collapse during the search for four missing speleologists, the second group continues along the route. This was reported on September 29 in the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

Search and rescue operations are conducted around the clock. To search for tourists — three men and one woman — the specialists went down to the Red and Pigeon caves. The meeting of the detachments was planned in the area of the "Marl Hall". However, the group following from the entrance of the Red Cave was only able to reach the hall of "Two batteries", having covered about 5 km of the way.

"According to preliminary information, rescuers have discovered a narrowness due to the collapse, which does not allow the group to move on. The personnel returned to the entrance of the Red Cave," the agency wrote in the Maks messenger.

The second group of rescuers, which started moving from the entrance to the Pigeon Cave, continues the operation. The work of the operational interdepartmental headquarters has been organized on the spot. A total of 41 people and 12 pieces of equipment were involved in the search.

Four tourists got stuck in the Red Cave in Crimea earlier in the day. According to the source of Izvestia, due to a sharp rise in the water level, a zasiphonal space was formed in the cave, which cut off the tourists' way out. Nikolay Shchelokov, head of the emergency rescue group of the Simferopol Krymspas detachment, also explained that the search was complicated by the presence of underground labyrinths and small flooding.

The investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the republic and Sevastopol reported that the tourists went to the cave on their own, there was no communication with the group members for more than 12 hours. According to the Izvestia source, the stranded people may be speleologists, as the cave is "wild" and not intended for ordinary people.
