The Ministry of Education will form unified lists of games and books for preschoolers

The Russian Ministry of Education plans to prepare unified lists of books, games, and cartoons for kindergartens. This was announced on September 28 by the head of the department Sergey Kravtsov.

"We are developing unified methodological kits and guidelines, taking into account educational tasks. Together, in partnership with scientists, experts and the civil society, we will form unified lists of books, games and cartoons — the very "gold standard" that can be trusted," he said in an interview with TASS.

The head of the Ministry of Education also noted that the department intends to strengthen ties with the families of pupils within the framework of creating a single educational space. "For this" it is planned to develop specialized projects, among which the Minister highlighted "Good games" and "Eaglets-pre-school children."

The educational system relies on traditional values and discipline, and experts are arguing whether such an approach will benefit children.

On September 27, Kravtsov announced that the Russian Ministry of Education would update the standard of preschool institutions, focusing on educating and introducing children to culture, literature and traditions. He noted that the agency is preparing an update of the standard and the Federal Program of Preschool Education. One of the tasks will be to strengthen the connection of kindergartens with families when performing educational tasks. The head of the Ministry of Education added that kindergarten should remain a space of education, not just preparing children for school.
