Putin has scheduled the first meeting of the State Duma of the IX convocation

The first meeting of the deputies of the State Duma (State Duma) IX will be held on September 30. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 25.

The document was created in accordance with Part 2 of Article 99 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and comes into force from the date of signing.

"To convene the first meeting of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the ninth convocation on September 30, 2026 at 10 a.m.," the text on the Kremlin's website says.

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Ella Pamfilova at a meeting of the commission reported the results of the last elections, the "United Russia" party received 349 mandates in the State Duma. 46 participants or veterans of the special military operation (SVO) were elected to the State Duma of the IX convocation. ""The Communist Party of the Russian Federation" also received 37 mandates, the Liberal Democratic Party — 23, "New People" — 19, "Fair Russia" - 17. One mandate went to the "Rodina" party, and four more to self—nominated candidates.

On September 23, Putin indicated that the record turnout of Russians on voting days indicates that citizens share and support the government's efforts to strengthen the state.
