The Polish Defense Ministry announced the cancellation of negotiations with the Pentagon at the request of the United States.

The United States has asked for the postponement of the visit of Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh to the Pentagon, which was scheduled for September 23. This was confirmed on September 21 by a message on the website of the Polish Defense Ministry.

"At the urgent request of the American side, the visit to the Pentagon of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh, originally scheduled for Wednesday, has been postponed to a later date. A new date for the visit is currently being agreed upon," the publication says.

The ministry explained that due to the signals from the American side, as well as after the meeting of the chiefs of staff of the North Atlantic Alliance, it became necessary to urgently take new measures regarding the security of the participating countries.

The Defense Ministry added that Deputy ministers Magdalena Sobkovyak-Czarnecka and Pavel Zalewski are heading to Washington. They will hold talks with American partners and prepare further cooperation agreements.

On September 17, US President Donald Trump said that Washington and Warsaw had made significant progress in establishing a base for US ground forces in Poland.
