Experts predicted a 20% increase in the cost of car repairs and maintenance

The cost of car repairs and maintenance in Russia by the end of 2026 may increase by about 20% due to rising costs. This was announced on September 21 by Tatiana Ovchinnikova, director of the international car service network Fit Service.

"We expect the average receipt to grow in the range of 15-20% by the end of 2026. The main drivers are a further increase in the cost of spare parts, an increase in the cost of standard hours and an increase in the share of complex repairs in the structure of orders," she shared in an interview with "Gazeta.Ru».

The expert also noted that the behavior of car owners is becoming more and more different. Some drivers try to reduce costs and choose the most affordable service options, while others prefer to invest in prevention in advance and choose better technical solutions.

The increase in costs also affects automotive components. In the first six months of 2026, their average cost increased by 15-20%. At the same time, basic consumables rose in price by 9-15%, while prices for rare parts, electronic components and body parts increased by 15-25%. By the end of the year, Fit Service expects an additional 5-7% increase in the cost of auto parts.

The way up: cars have doubled in price in five years

The ruble exchange rate and lower discounts may lead to further price increases.

On September 14, Sergey Tselikov, head of the "Autostat" analytical agency, said that the average cost of a new car in the country had roughly doubled in five years, from 1.68 million rubles to 3.29 million rubles. The corresponding conclusion was made by him on the basis of indicators collected from 2020 to 2025.
