NPC ""Ushkuynik"" has developed the Apiary complex, which catches enemy drones with a grid

""Ushkuynik" Scientific and Production Center has developed the "Apiary" complex, designed for circular protection of ground facilities and vehicles from FPV drones. The system is able to automatically detect drones and intercept them using networks without operator involvement. This was announced on September 21 by Alexey Chadaev, Director General of the NPC.

"The developed "Apiary" complex is capable of providing circular protection of an object from an FPV drone on the ground. Four rounded modules with 12 mesh panels provide 360—degree protection," he told "RIA Novosti".

According to Chadaev, when a drone approaches, the neural network recognizes the target, after which, at a distance of up to 20 m, the complex automatically fires a 4 by 4 m network. To protect the entire perimeter, four modules are provided, equipped with a total of 48 mesh meters.

The head of the NPC explained that an ordinary fishing net is used as a means of interception, which should entangle the screws of the FPV drone. It takes several seconds to replace a used cartridge. The complex is designed, among other things, to protect ground-based robotic systems.

"Uralvagonzavod" concern launched mass production of an all-range assault protection kit for T-80BVM tanks against drone attacks on September 11. The designers have developed a standard protection based on the experience of field modifications. The kit covers the tank from all projections, and the steel cables, when hit, deform the body of the cumulative munition or cause it to explode at a safe distance from the main armor.
