Banks have offered measures to support companies after UAV attacks on logistics centers

The Association of Banks of Russia (ADB) discussed additional financial and credit support measures for companies affected by UAV attacks on logistics centers, warehouses, production and retail facilities. This was reported to TASS on September 17 by the press service of the association.

At the initiative of the RWB group and "WB Bank", a discussion was held on possible mechanisms to help enterprises facing the consequences of drone attacks. They were talking about companies from the fields of logistics, trade, manufacturing, oil refining, tourism and agriculture.

The meeting participants noted that existing support measures may not be sufficient. According to their assessment, the enterprises of the affected industries need additional financing to restore their operational activities.

Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the ADB Council and head of the State Duma's Financial Market committee, suggested considering measures that banks could implement on their own. Among them is the restructuring of loans and the provision of installment payments. He also suggested preparing proposals to adjust existing regulatory support measures and tools that would require budget financing and government guarantees.

The association noted that among the existing support mechanisms are tax deferrals, recommendations from the Bank of Russia on providing credit holidays for SMEs, and preferential lending programs from the Ministry of Economic Development, the Central Bank, and the SME Corporation. Various banks have presented their own assistance programs.

Among the new proposals is the expansion of preferential loans for digital platforms, e—commerce, oil refining, agriculture and tourism with separate limits for small and medium-sized businesses, large companies and backbone enterprises. It is also proposed to temporarily adjust the regulation to provide financing and credit holidays, and to provide operational support to the agricultural sector, taking into account the timing of agricultural work.

In July, Alexander Shokhin, head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, noted that Russian business was discussing with the authorities the creation of early detection, warning and repelling drone attacks on industrial enterprises. According to him, companies cannot independently provide full-fledged protection against aerial threats and need to coordinate efforts with the state. Shokhin noted that we are talking about the formation of an integrated system.
