Solar activity has almost tripled in the last two years. This was announced on September 10 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAS in the Telegram channel.

Experts noted that the indicators of solar activity are calculated by the number of sunspots and are used to compare the activity of the Sun in different historical periods.

According to scientists, over the past 24 months, the value of the solar activity index has decreased from 216 to 76 units.

On September 4, the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the IKI RAS reported that multiple plasma emissions were detected on the invisible side of the Sun. It is specified that during this time, hidden active areas that have become sources of emissions should reach the visible side of the Sun and approach the line between the star and the Earth.
