The power plant of the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter can withstand a critical temperature of +2 thousand degrees in hover mode. This was announced by Rostec on September 1.

The engine provides aerobatic maneuvers to avoid missile attacks. At the Aero India air show, test pilot Sergey Bogdan performed figures suggesting reaching zero speed at an altitude of 600 m.

"This mode is considered one of the most stressful, as the engine is heated from the inside to 2,000 degrees Celsius. This is a critical test on the verge of a thermal extreme, which the domestic power plant is successfully passing due to the high reliability of the design," Rostec said in a Telegram channel message.

Performing complex shapes is of practical importance: maneuverability allows the fighter to escape from missiles, and a reliable installation supports the pilot's confidence. The Su-57 is the world's only fifth—generation fighter that has proven effective in real combat. He uses high-precision weapons and is barely visible to radars.

Mikhail Strelets, Director of the Sukhoi Design Bureau, said on August 14 that a two-seat modification of the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter would make it possible to implement sixth-generation technologies and use the aircraft as an aerial control point for drones. According to him, the presence of a second crew member is critically important for the effective management of intelligent complexes, such as the Hunter heavy drone, as well as swarm and group UAV systems.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 5 that the Su-57 is the most modern aircraft in the world. He also pointed out the effectiveness of this fighter among its analogues. The Head of State recalled that Russia had previously offered India to participate in joint work on this project.
