The Ministry of Education named an approximate date for the end of the school year in 2027.

The new academic year in Russian schools will end no earlier than May 26, 2027. This was announced on August 30 by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov.

"The beginning and end of the academic year are normatively fixed in the unified federal programs. We start on September 1 and finish no earlier than May 26, 2027. We give clear recommendations during the holidays, because it is important for the guys not to overwork themselves and stay active," Kravtsov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The Minister noted that educational organizations can independently adjust vacation dates based on their conditions. At the same time, the department's task is to ensure the most equal conditions for schoolchildren to relax in all regions.

On August 29, Kravtsov said that in the new academic year, Russian schools will accept 17.6 million students, 1.5 million of them are first—graders. In addition, the Minister of Education noted that all the necessary measures for the start of the school year have been completed and the country's education system is ready to work.
