The Ministry of Finance announced the timing of the launch of 5G

In Russia, the 5G communication standard should appear no later than December 31, 2027. This was announced on August 26 on the website of the Ministry of Finance.

It is specified that operators will be able to deploy 5G networks at existing base stations.

"According to the draft decision of the State Emergency Committee, 5G services should be launched in cities with a population of more than 1 million people no later than December 31, 2027," the report says.

The ministry clarified that in the future, until 2031, coverage is planned to be expanded in the range of 4.63–4.99 GHz in the most sought-after places in cities with millions.

The Ministry of Digital Affairs also noted that 5G networks provide higher data transfer speeds, lower signal latency and greater bandwidth compared to previous communication standards.

On July 6, the Ministry of Digital Affairs reported that in Russia they want to speed up the mobile Internet with the help of artificial intelligence. Oleg Yablokov, an NTI expert on wireless communications, noted that the use of AI will really increase the speed of mobile Internet by increasing bandwidth by 20-30%, as shown by operator tests.
