Tuomas Malinen, a professor at the University of Helsinki, criticized Finnish President Alexander Stubb for supporting attacks on Russian targets. On August 26, he wrote about this on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

"I hope that every Russian understands that our president does not have a mandate from the Finnish people for such provocations against Russia. I consider Stubb to be very close to being an accomplice to treason," Malinen wrote.

Stubb said on August 24 that attacks on the logistics infrastructure of the Wildberries marketplace could allegedly increase pressure on Russia and facilitate the start of the negotiation process. The head of Finland also stated the need for further support for Ukraine from Western countries, including military and financial assistance.
