The American aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln is returning to the San Diego base in the United States. This was reported on August 20 by NBC News, citing American officials.

"The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is returning home after a long nine—month business trip," the article says.

It is specified that the ship has been on the way for several days and should arrive in San Diego within a few weeks. There are about 5,000 sailors and Marines on board the Abraham Lincoln. The ship spent more than 250 days at sea.

The aircraft carrier left the Middle East, where it participated in supporting American operations against Iran. After his departure, the aircraft carrier George Washington arrived in the region.

The Daily Beast reported on August 5 that relatives of military personnel stationed on the American aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln reported problems with the conditions of service on board the ship. According to them, the crew faced unsanitary conditions, food shortages and a shortage of basic necessities.

On August 12, the Military Times noted that several military personnel on board the aircraft carrier tried to jump overboard amid prolonged service. The US Navy said that the command of the ship monitors the psychological state of the personnel.
