Investigators are conducting a check in connection with the emergency landing of the aircraft in the Sakhalin region. This was announced on August 21 by the press service of the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department for Transport.

The pre-investigation check is organized under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic safety and operation rules of air transport).

"According to preliminary data, an An-3 aircraft made an emergency landing in the Tymovsky district of the Sakhalin Region today. Two crew members and five parachutists from the Sakhalin Airbase were on board the aircraft. After landing, a fire broke out on board, all persons evacuated," the ministry said in a statement on the Maks social network.

There were no fatalities or injuries as a result of the incident. The amount of damage caused is currently being determined. The press service of the department noted that the procedural decision will be made based on the results of the audit.
