The Kremlin announced Putin's plans to attend the SCO summit in Kyrgyzstan.
Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to take part in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Kyrgyzstan. This was announced on August 20 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"The president's participation is planned, it really is," Peskov said.
According to him, the event will be representative and informative. At the same time, the schedule of bilateral meetings and contacts of the Russian leader on the sidelines of the summit has not yet been disclosed.
The Russian President said on June 4 that the SCO was created as a tool for resolving border issues, but has grown and become a significant force. He added that the results of the organization's work are of interest to both the Russian Federation and other member states. Putin expressed confidence in the success of the upcoming summit and expressed Moscow's readiness to assist in its preparation.
