Lvova-Belova called maternal love the main condition for raising children

The most important thing in parenting is for children to feel a mother's love. This was announced on August 17 by Maria Lvova-Belova, Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of Russia.

"The most important thing is for them to feel a mother's love. And you can give it. It doesn't depend on the time spent with children," she said in an interview with TASS CEO Andrey Kondrashov.

The Ombudsman, who is raising five born and five adopted children, also stressed that older sons and daughters need even more care and attention than younger ones. According to her, the transmission of love is determined by the quality of communication and the degree of involvement of the parent in the child's life.

Lvova-Belova shared a personal example, saying that on August 16 she returned home from work around midnight, but the children were waiting for her for the traditional reading together. She noted that regardless of the time of her arrival, reading a book remains an obligatory ritual and a time that belongs only to children.

On the same day, State Duma Deputy Speaker Boris Chernyshov proposed granting the status of a large family regardless of whether citizens have registration at their place of residence. The initiative suggests that the right to benefits can be confirmed in other ways that allow us to establish the composition of the family and the fact that parents and children live together.
