More than 30 people were poisoned in a kindergarten on Sakhalin

Mass poisoning occurred in kindergarten No. 8 in Korsakov on Sakhalin. This was announced on August 17 by the press service of the city administration.

"In kindergarten No. 8, after children's daytime sleep, not only children, but also adults felt unwell, accompanied by vomiting...> More than 30 cases have been recorded," the message on the Telegram channel says.

It is noted that the kindergarten administration informed the parents, the children were transferred to their legal representatives, and the adults independently sought medical help. Emergency notices have been sent to Rospotrebnadzor and the children's polyclinic.

The agency's specialists are working on the site, an epidemiological investigation is underway, and samples are being taken.

The number of cases of salmonellosis infection is growing in the country — most often the infection is transmitted through prepared foods.

In Salekhard, 51 people were confirmed to have salmonellosis the day before after eating ready-made food from a delivery service. It was noted that 18 children were among the sick. Most of the victims are treated on an outpatient basis. Eight people, including three children, remain in medical institutions. Their condition is assessed as moderate in severity.
