Information about the release dates of the film was revealed during the presentation of the Disney Entertainment Showcase at the D23 fan event in Anaheim (USA) on Friday. Visitors to the exhibition were exclusively shown the first shots of the future remake.

The main roles in the project will be played by Tegan Croft, who will embody the image of Princess Rapunzel, and Milo Manheim, who has been confirmed for the role of Flynn Ryder.

The plot of the film is based on a fairy tale by the brothers Grimm and repeats the events of the 2010 animated film about a princess with magical long hair. The narrative focuses on the story of the heroine, who spent years imprisoned in an isolated tower until she was rescued by thief Flynn Ryder.
