The shutdown of two hydrogenerators at the Toktogul HPP in Kyrgyzstan could cause a power outage in several regions of Kazakhstan. This was announced on August 14 by the KEGOC company's press service.
According to TASS, the shutdown of generators led to an overload of transit and the separation of the southern zone from the energy system of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
It is specified that consumers in Almaty, Zhambyl, Turkestan, Kyzylorda, Zhetysu, Karaganda, Ulytau and Abai regions were left without electricity.
On the same day, a power outage occurred in Kazakhstan, which was caused by a sudden change in flow from the Central Asian energy system. The incident triggered the automatic emergency system. KEGOC restored power supply after an emergency failure that caused blackouts in several regions of the country.
