The military court in Moscow will consider Arestovich's case behind closed doors.

On August 28, the Second Western District Military Court will begin considering the case in absentia of Alexei Arestovich, ex-adviser to the office of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky (included in the Russian Federation's list of terrorists and extremists by Rosfinmonitoring), about calls to terrorism and fakes about the Russian army. This was reported to Izvestia on August 14 in the press service of the instance.

They clarified that the process would be closed due to ensuring the safety of its participants.

On February 6, 2024, Arestovich was arrested in absentia in Moscow for two months for publicly calling for terrorism and discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. It was specified that the term of his arrest would begin when he was detained or handed over to Russian law enforcement officers.
