The requests of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, to transfer missiles for Patriot air defense systems to Kiev indicate his poor emotional state. This opinion was expressed on August 13 by Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou.

"Zelensky has the logic of a drug addict who is suffering from withdrawal. It's like he's saying that you can't refuse me. America, give me the money. I'm ready for anything. I will buy Patriot missiles at any price," said Khristoforou, the recording is available on his YouTube channel.

The journalist also stated that even the supply of 5% of the American stocks of missiles for Patriot systems, in his opinion, will not be able to significantly affect Russia's capabilities in the field of ballistic missiles.

The day before, Zelensky announced the need to receive from the United States 5% of the American stocks of missiles for Patriot systems so that the country could survive the winter. According to him, this year the Ukrainian side received 2.5 times fewer interceptor missiles for Patriot than in 2025.

Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Skorokhod noted on August 12 that Ukraine is in a catastrophic situation due to the lack of air defense systems. She stressed that attempts to hide problems with the state of air defense systems from the public do not contribute to their solution.
