The Guardian reported on health workers fainting from the heat in Britain

Healthcare workers in the UK are fainting during shifts due to the extreme heat in hospital wards and nursing homes. This was reported on August 13 by The Guardian newspaper with reference to the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) medical workers' union.

"Nurses are fainting in 'inhumane' conditions due to extreme heat. <...> RCN is calling for the installation of more air conditioners as [British Prime Minister Andy] Burnham faces pressure to recognize the urgent need to adapt to the climate crisis," the publication says.

It clarifies that some employees also experienced dizziness, nausea or fainting, while being drenched in sweat "from head to toe." In such conditions, health workers have to ensure the safety of elderly and vulnerable patients, as well as keep the temperature of medicines low.
