Chita declared a state of emergency due to flooding after the rains. This was announced on August 12 by the head of the city Inna Shcheglova.

"A decision has been made to introduce an Emergency operation mode in the Chita City district," she wrote in the Maks messenger.

Currently, the city services are carrying out a complex of restoration work. Specialists are engaged in pumping water from flooded road sections, searching for places for additional filling of problem areas, as well as cleaning wells.

In addition, residents who have suffered damage as a result of an emergency situation are provided with a one-time payment of 15 thousand rubles.
