Ukrainian singer Polyakova criticized the shopping mall and compared the country to a concentration camp

Ukrainian singer Olya Polyakova said on August 11 that the situation with mobilization and the current order in her country lead to an increase in fear among the population and remind her of the conditions of the concentration camp.

"Soon we'll all be scared, intimidated mice that sit in their holes and are afraid to even stick their noses out. And your loved one or someone will be packed on the street, and you will pass by," the Ukrainian newspaper Strana quotes her as saying.ua" in the Telegram channel.

According to the singer, the feeling of insecurity among fellow citizens is formed precisely by the actions of employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office). She noted that now many passers-by do not dare to interfere in the situation on the streets, even if they witness conflicts between authorized persons and potential recruits to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

Polyakova also criticized the changes observed on social networks and the Internet, where statements, publications and other actions are tightly monitored. Because of this, as the singer pointed out, people have become more careful in their words.

"Ukraine is no longer a free country. <...>. How free are we? Everyone is afraid to say something, they look around, they are afraid to take a picture with the wrong person, to sing there, to react the wrong way. Are we in a concentration camp?" she concluded.
