Germany rejected Russia's alleged involvement in the UAV incident at Leipzig airport

Matthias Uhl, Doctor of Historical Sciences and expert on Russia, said on August 8 that he did not consider Russia to be involved in the incident with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) at Leipzig airport.

"The acquisition of the necessary explosives and explosive devices, as well as their preparation for use, require appropriate special knowledge, which only trained specialists possess," the German n—tv channel quoted him as saying.

According to the historian, there are a number of circumstances that cast doubt on Moscow's alleged involvement in the incident. A UAV packed with explosives at Leipzig airport was found near an aircraft with equipment for the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine three days earlier. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt called the incident a scenario of a hybrid attack, and at the Russian Embassy on August 7, a provocation staged by European script politicians to justify their spending on Kiev.

The Bild newspaper, in turn, noted that the drone remained unnoticed for more than four hours: it appeared on video recordings at 19:30 (20:30 Moscow time) on August 5, and was shot down by a local bus driver only at 23:42 (00:42 Moscow time).
