The West has reduced the supply of missiles for Patriot air defense systems in order to make Kiev more compliant. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on August 5.

During a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, the Ukrainian leader said that he did not know any other reasons for what was happening, except for the situation in the Middle East.

"Maybe these are political steps to make Ukraine more accommodating. In my opinion, not without this," he is quoted as saying in the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian edition "Страна.иа ".

On July 9, the Bundestag, by a majority vote, rejected the initiative of the Green Party to strengthen military and humanitarian support for Ukraine, including through the supply of Taurus and Patriot missiles. It was clarified that the initiative provided for the transfer of Taurus cruise missiles from the reserves of the Bundeswehr and the production of new Patriot PAC-2 missiles for Kiev.

On June 2, the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, spoke about the shortage of air defense systems and called on the West to strengthen military assistance to Ukraine. According to him, European countries need to be more active in developing their own ballistic defense systems, and the United States needs to increase the supply of missiles for Patriot complexes.
