A resident of Feodosia was sentenced to 16 years for treason

A resident of Feodosia was sentenced to 16 years in prison in a case of high treason. This was announced on August 4 by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Crimea.

"The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Crimea has supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 45-year-old resident of the city of Feodosia. He was found guilty of high treason," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.

The court found that in September 2024, the man collected information about the movement of a reconnaissance and attack helicopter that provided cover for fuel and energy complex facilities in Crimea, and also photographed military equipment.

He transmitted the collected information through one of the messengers to a chatbot used by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The court sentenced the man to 16 years in prison to serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony. After his release, he will also be restricted in freedom for one year and six months.

On August 3, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced a resident of Kursk to 16 years in a penal colony in a case of treason. According to the court's decision, the convict will spend the first three years in prison, and the rest of the term in a high—security penal colony. In addition, he was sentenced to one year of restriction of liberty and a fine of 40,000 rubles.
