Tsarukyan's plant in Armenia came under state control

The Ararat brandy, wine and Vodka factory in Yerevan, which was previously controlled by Gagik Tsarukyan, the arrested leader of the Prosperous Armenia opposition party, has been transferred to the state administration. This was reported on July 31 in the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia.

"As part of the proceedings on the confiscation of property of illegal origin, based on the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, by the decision of the Anti-Corruption Court, the shares of Yerevan Brandy, Wine and Vodka Combine Ararat were transferred to the management and protection of the Republic of Armenia," the publication says on the website.

It is specified that the relevant decision was made on July 30 by the Anti-Corruption Court in the case of confiscation of property allegedly acquired illegally.

In the framework of the same case, the prosecutor's office demands the confiscation of dozens of real estate objects, vehicles, shares in companies from Tsarukyan and related persons, as well as the recovery of more than AMD 105.8 billion.

All of Pashinyan's key opponents turned out to be involved in criminal cases.

Tsarukyan was detained by the Investigative Committee of the Republic on July 6. He is accused of organizing fraud and money laundering on an especially large scale. The defense called the charges absurd. Later, the court arrested Tsarukyan for two months.

The company "Araratcement", which belongs to Tsarukyan, was taken over by the state on July 16. In addition, as part of the statement of claim, the authorities demanded that 75 real estate objects and the market value of 10 units of property be confiscated from him. There is also a demand for the confiscation of 42 vehicles.
