- The Central Bank announced an increase in the maximum deposit rate in the top 10 banks
The average maximum interest rate on deposits in Russian rubles in the 10 largest banks in the country continues to grow. This is evidenced by the monitoring data of the Bank of Russia, published on July 31 on the regulator's website.
In the first decade of July, the indicator was 12.79%, in the second — 12.83%, in the third — 12.85%. The indicator is calculated as the arithmetic average of the maximum rates of 10 credit institutions that attract the largest volume of deposits from the population.
According to the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the calculation takes into account deposit rates available to any client without additional conditions, including interest capitalization. Special conditions for certain categories of depositors, as well as combined products with additional requirements, are not taken into account.
The average maximum deposit rate for a period of up to three months was 12.34%, for a period of three to six months — 12.63%, from six months to a year — 12.45%, for a period over a year — 11.46%.
On July 13, Yuri Okishev, CEO of Auditorium CG, recommended that Russians who want to fix a high rate open a deposit for a period of one to three years. He called short—term deposits — up to six months - too risky, but clarified that there are disadvantages in long-term ones. For example, their owner will have limited access to money.
