- Poland raised fighter jets again due to the flight of Russian military aircraft over the Baltic Sea
Poland has raised fighter jets again due to the flight of Russian military aircraft over the Baltic Sea. This was announced on July 31 by the Minister of Defense of the Republic Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh on his page on the social network X (former. Twitter).
According to him, the Russian IL-20 aircraft was moving in international airspace 40 km from the Polish city of Kolobrzeg. The Polish army took off two F-16 fighter jets.
At the same time, as the minister noted, there was no violation of the country's airspace by the Russian aircraft. Kosinyak-Kamysh stressed that the Polish military is in close cooperation with its partners in the North Atlantic Alliance and is "constantly monitoring the situation."
On July 14, Kosinyak-Kamysh also reported that the fighters of the country's army were lifted into the air because of a Russian Il-20 aircraft flying over the Baltic Sea. According to the minister, the Russian plane was flying in an international zone and was located 30 km from the coast of Poland.
