Russians were told the main risk factors for developing cancer and heart disease
The risk of developing cancer, cardiovascular and endocrine diseases largely depends on a person's lifestyle. This was announced on July 31 by Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko.
"Keep an eye on your weight, because excess weight is a serious predictor of the development of a whole group of diseases, both cardiovascular, oncological, and endocrine," Murashko's statement is quoted by RIA Novosti.
According to the head of the Ministry of Health, responsible attitude to one's own health plays an important role in the prevention of diseases. He recommended regular checkups, quitting smoking and drinking alcohol.
The head of the Ministry of Health stressed that timely prevention and a healthy lifestyle help reduce the likelihood of developing many chronic diseases.
On July 28, Anastasia Artemyeva, an endocrinologist at the National Research Medical Center "Medical and Rehabilitation Center" of the Russian Ministry of Health, told which symptoms do not always indicate problems with the thyroid gland.
The specialist noted that many of the symptoms that are commonly associated with thyroid diseases can be caused by completely different causes. For example, fatigue, weight gain, cold hands and feet, dry skin, hair loss, and mood swings often occur with iron deficiency, vitamin D, chronic stress, sleep disorders, and other conditions.
