The Russian Armed Forces hit the factory of the American UAV manufacturer in Kiev

For the first time, a Russian ballistic missile hit an American company's facility in Ukraine, a factory for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles in Kiev. This was reported by The Guardian newspaper on July 30.

"It seems that this is the first time that Moscow has targeted an American company during the conflict," the article says.

According to the newspaper, the company produced high-precision "deep-impact" drones with guidance systems resistant to Russian electronic warfare. Terminal Autonomy was incorporated in the U.S. state of Delaware in 2023.

The Guardian notes that the company's name is associated with a technology in which artificial intelligence takes control of a drone during the final stage of an attack after possible suppression of communication channels. According to the newspaper, the production of drones at the enterprise was focused on the use of autonomous guidance technologies.

On July 26, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian Armed Forces had hit a drone assembly and storage site in Kiev. With the involvement of specialists from the Ukrainian-American company, the production of attack and reconnaissance drones AQ-400 Scythe ("Scythe"), AQ-100 Bayonet ("Bayonet") and reconnaissance RQ-100 Scout ("Scout") was carried out. An enterprise in Kiev that produced UAVs and their components was also hit.
