The State Duma proposed to provide large families with a choice between land and 1 million rubles.

On July 29, the leader of the Fair Russia party, Sergei Mironov, took the initiative to legislatively grant large families the right to choose independently between receiving a free land plot and a cash payment of 1 million rubles.

"Our proposal is very simple. Let's choose either a plot of land in a normal place, where there is all the infrastructure, there is a road, or 1 million rubles," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to the deputy, the decision to pay monetary compensation instead of providing a land plot is now taken by the regions themselves. At the same time, the average amount of such a payment in the country is about 200-300 thousand rubles.

Mironov recalled that the right of large families to receive free land plots for individual housing construction has been in effect since 2011. However, according to him, this measure is implemented differently in different regions: some families receive land suitable for construction, others are allocated land without roads and necessary infrastructure, some receive monetary compensation instead, and some large families, according to the deputy, do not receive the necessary support at all.

The deputy stressed that the payment of 1 million rubles will allow large families to independently choose and purchase a suitable land plot. According to him, this approach would be the most fair, so the party intends to pursue the implementation of this initiative.
