The EU Diplomatic Service has summoned the Charge d'affaires of the Russian Permanent Mission

The European External Relations Service (EEAS) has summoned the Charge d'affaires of the Permanent Mission of Russia to the European Union. This was announced on July 28 by the representative of the European Commission, Anwar al-Anuni.

"Indeed, today we have summoned the Charge d'affaires of Russia to the European Union," the AGI agency quoted him as saying.

In Brussels, their actions are justified by assumptions about Russia's alleged involvement in the appearance of unmanned aerial vehicles in the skies over Romania.

The day before, the Romanian Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian Ambassador in Bucharest to the headquarters of the department and notified one of the employees of the diplomatic mission about the expulsion. On the same day, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow would respond to the expulsion of an employee of the Russian embassy. She also called Romania's accusations of allegedly belonging to Russian UAVs unfounded. In her opinion, Bucharest's claims are unfounded.
