Eduard Sandler was born on August 26, 1981 in Vladivostok. After graduating from high school, he entered the Far Eastern State University. In 2003, he completed his studies at the university, receiving a diploma in Law.

Starting a career and creating clubs

Sandler's professional activity is connected with the development of sports infrastructure in Primorsky Krai and Sakhalin Oblast. He was the founder and became the first president of the Spartak Primorye basketball club.

In 2013, with his participation, the Sakhalin Professional basketball club was established. In the new structure, Sandler combined administrative and coaching work, holding the positions of athletic director and head coach of the team. Under his leadership, the team became the champion of the Super League in the 2015/2016 season.

Judicial proceedings

In 2016, the functionary's career was interrupted by criminal prosecution. In July 2016, the Frunzensky District Court of Vladivostok found Eduard Sandler guilty of fraud with budgetary funds. It was about the theft of subsidies allocated for the maintenance of a basketball club. The court sentenced him to two years in prison to serve his sentence in a general regime colony.

Coaching activities and achievements

After returning to professional activities, Sandler continued to work in Russian basketball. In 2020, he became the head of the coaching staff of the Vostok-65 club. Since 2023, the specialist has been the head coach of Dynamo Vladivostok. Under his leadership, the team won the gold medals of the Super League championship in 2024.

Success at the club level contributed to the coach's invitation to national structures. In May 2024, Eduard Sandler was appointed head coach of the Russian national basketball team among players under the age of 20.
